A laboratory fume hood is equipment with a built-in exhaust ventilation system designed for use in laboratories when working with chemically active volatile substances. It ensures safe handling of reagents, protects staff respiratory systems, and removes hazardous substances from the room's air.

Depending on the intended use, the hood features a transparent front panel and exhaust system, and can be equipped with electrical power, a light source, and water supply. The worktop is made from chemically resistant materials; the lower cabinet is purchased separately and is used for storing reagents, tools, and laboratory equipment.
